One of the most common everyday items that we use is a smartphone. We use it while traveling, we use it during work and afterwards for entertainment. Smartphones have become an indispensable part of our lives. It is essential as it is the only way in today’s world to stay connected with our friends, family, and colleagues, with one touch you can call or connect with anyone in this world no matter where they are. Life without a smartphone nowadays is impossible. Everything is connected through this small device that fits into your pockets. It is proof of the rapid advancements that are occurring in this age.
When compared with the old phones which used to have buttons, smartphones are very delicate. They have screens made of glass or acrylic which are prone to damage, they can be easily damaged by water or due to overheating by a charger or even in some cases sunlight. Being a device that is being used every day it is quite inevitable to have moments of carelessness due to which your phone can be damaged. It can accidentally fall of your hands on the floor and crack the screen, it can be pushed out of your hands while listening to music, it falls down a flight of stairs while taking a selfie. There are limitless reasons of how a smartphone can be damaged and some of them might be too weird to be believable, but these things can happen and have happened to many people. Every day you will find people who are either getting new screen protectors such as gorilla glass because the previous one got damaged due to some accident or getting the LCD or touch screen of their phones replaced as the crash was too fatal to be prevented by a screen protector. And it may be the worst feeling to see your phones damaged because either it is a phone which is the newest model and very costly, probably got it as a gift for getting perfect scores or because you saved up for it as it was something you wanted for a long time or it is a budget-friendly phone you needed and like a lot, whichever the case it doesn’t change the fact that no matter whether it be a costly phone or a budget-friendly one a smartphone costs a lot, it is a huge investment and watching its screen gets cracked or damaged beyond repair can be the worst nightmare. It is inevitable to avoid damage because there will be accidents no matter how careful one is but the best, we can do is foresee them and try to prevent the damage that can be caused by being wary of predictable scenarios.
The most delicate part of a smartphone is its screen. Whenever there is an accident, the screen is the first part that gets damaged. It is usually made up of glass or acrylic, so it is inevitable to avoid cracks on the screen when it falls off your hands or any other scenario. Some of the most common ways to damage one’s phone screen can be putting it in your back pocket and forgetting about it, it is a common way of damaging the screen because if you sit on an uneven surface, it will surely crack the screen, hence it is always better to keep your phones in the front pocket or your bags. But that doesn’t always work though, there are scenarios where even while keeping it in your front pocket or bags cannot avoid the tragedy such as bumping into the corner of a table or putting the bag down with force, these things happen unconsciously and damage the screen of our phones. One scenario which is quite common among parents would be handing your phone to a small child. In today’s world, we always see people busy with their phones, children are not an exception. Sometimes parents’ hand over their phones to their tiny tots to keep them occupied while working but those little rays of sunshine are still not comfortable in holding things, small children are still developing therefore handing them phones might not be the best alternative to keeping them occupied. They may accidentally lose balance and the phone might come down crashing on the floor and this can be hazardous for the child as well as the broken pieces of glass may hurt them. Sometimes instead of simply placing the smartphone on one’s bed people prefer to throw it because the bed is soft it can’t harm the phone, right? Well yes, it is soft and can’t harm the phone, but the phone might just bounce off the bed and end up on the floor with a cracked screen. Some people have damaged screens because they were taking a selfie and it fell off their hands, some were taking pictures while traveling in a bus or cars and it fell off their hands on the road, some accidentally put something hard and heavy on it and damage the screen, there are countless ways in which one can damage their screens. There is a category of ways that may sound absurd but have happened to people.
It is almost impossible to list down all the permutations and combinations of ways in which one’s phone screen can get damaged, and it is also inevitable to avoid this from happening. The best we can do is care for it and use all the preventive measures such as screen protectors, protective cases, etc. to avoid or at least minimize the damage caused as replacing a case or screen guard is a lot cheaper than replacing the LCD or sometimes the entire phone and as we do not want that to happen, we can use the measures that we know of and be aware and careful ourselves.
